CC Zhuang, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Chenchao (CC) Zhuang is Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Qunar, and is responsible for the company’s overall strategy and operation. Before his appointment as CEO in June 2011, CC was President of Qunar, overseeing the company’s operation. Since CC co-founded Qunar with Fritz Demopoulos and Douglas Khoo in May 2005, Qunar has grown into the largest Chinese travel site.

Before starting Qunar, CC was a core member of the World Bank’s System Architecture team based in Washington DC, US. At the World Bank, he was instrumental in developing a 130-country, 25-language intranet that was awarded "Best Intranet" by Nielsen Norman Group in 2003. Before moving to Washington DC, CC was a co-founder and CTO of Shawei, China's leading sports portal which was acquired by The Tom Group in 2000.

CC received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Peking University.

Sam Sun, Chief Financial Officer

Sam Sun has been Chief Financial Officer of Qunar since January 2010. He’s responsible for financial operations, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, legal affairs, and brand advertising.

He was Chief Financial Officer of Beijing Ruifeng Co. Ltd. from May 2009 to September 2009 and KongZhong Corporation, a Nasdaq-listed company, from February 2007 to April 2009. Sam was also an independent director and audit committee member of KongZhong Corporation from July 2005 through January 2007. From 2004 to 2007, Sam took various financial controller roles at Microsoft China R&D Group, Maersk China Co. Ltd. and SouFun.com. From 1995 to 2004, Sam worked in KPMG’s auditing practice, including eight years at KPMG in Beijing where he was an audit senior manager, and two years at KPMG in Los Angeles, California.

Sam earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Beijing Institute of Technology in 1993. He is a Certified Public Accountant in China.

David Wu, Chief Technology Officer

David Wu joined Qunar as Chief Technology Officer in March 2007, and is responsible for technology research & development.

David has over ten years experience in Internet and information technology space. Before Qunar, he was Technology Director at eLong and Technology Director at Yahoo China. David led the successful technical operations and maintenance, and IT integration when Alibaba acquired Yahoo China.

David received a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Institute of Technology, and an MBA in finance from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Denise Peng, Executive Vice President

Denise Peng is Executive Vice President of Qunar and mainly responsible for business development.

Denise has nearly ten years of experience on China’s Internet and search engine technology. In the past decade, she has accumulated rich experience on sales, marketing and commercial operation. Before Qunar, Denise was a founding member of Shawei.com and responsible for the plan and technology implementation of Shawei.com, and then became the Multimedia and Interaction Director to take charge of relevant business cooperation and technology implementation.

Born in Beijing, Denise Peng received a BS in Information Processing and Smart Identification with a Minor in Enterprise Management from Harbin Institute of Technology. She’s currently studying for an EMBA at CEIBS.

Dixon Dai, Vice President of Marketing

Dixon Dai joined Qunar as Vice President of Marketing in March 2006.

Before Qunar, Dixon was marketing and advertising sales director at Dangdang.com. Dixon’s experience also includes Vice President at CIMG and co-founder at 8848.net, China’s first ever online store. He currently serves as the Secretary General of Marketing Committee at China Tourism Association, member of Brand China Industry Union, and expert panel member of V Marketing China.

Dixon received a BA from Fuzhou University, and studied Marketing at Massey University in New Zealand.

Ze Zhang, Vice President of Hotel Business

Mr. Zhang joined Qunar as Vice President of Hotel Business in April 2008.

Before Qunar, Mr. Zhang was Marketing director at Jinjiang Inn. His experience also include marketing at Home Inns. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Marketing at Leisure Branch of China Tourism Association. He also participated in drafting the National Hotel Industry and Service Quality Evaluation Standards.

Mr. Zhang received a bachelor’s from Shanghai Medical University, a Master’s in Hotel Management from Cornell University, and an EMBA from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law.

Zhenyu Chen, Vice President of Products

Mr. Chen joined Qunar as Vice President of Products in March 2010, and is responsible for Qunar’s product development and Qunar Mobile.

He was a founding engineer of Baidu, and among the very few engineers who have experienced the up and downs in Baidu’s early years. During his five-year tenure in Baidu since 2001, Mr. Chen was in charge of Baidu’s web search service which had hundreds of millions of daily visits, and was promoted from engineer to Senior Manager of Search Department. After gaining tremendous technical and management experience at Baidu, he moved on to co-found Zhuaxia.com, a Chinese online RSS reader.

Mr. Chen received a bachelor’s degree from Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering.

Fei Cai, Vice President of HR and Corporate Affairs

Ms. Cai joined Qunar as Vice President of HR and Corporate Affairs in December 2010.

Ms. Cai has 17 years experience in Human Resources, Finance, and Corporate Affairs. Before Qunar, she was CFO of MySpace China. She entered Internet industry by joining MSN China as Human Resources Director in 2005. From 1999 to 2005, she was with News Corporation China, in charge of Finance, Human Resources, and Administration. She started her career at Statoil China to manage its China Office’s finance and administration in 1994.

Ms. Cai received a Bachelor’s from Capital University of Economics and a Master’s in Applied Psychology from Beijing Normal University. She’s currently studying for an EMBA at CEIBS.

Wei Yang, Vice President of Transaction Platforms

Mr. Yang joined Qunar in March 2008 and was promoted to Vice President of Transaction Platforms in July 2011, responsible for Qunar’s flight business and transaction platforms.

Mr. Yang started his career as a project manager with Shenzhen Airlines, in charge of revenue management, training, and personnel management. He was then appointed as Vice President of Revenue Management in 2006, responsible for freight management and e-business platform. The freight management system Mr. Yang developed during that period was praised by Air China and other industry leaders. At Qunar, Mr. Yang started as Senior Product Manager, and was subsequently promoted to Product Director, Senior Product Director before his appointment as Vice President.

Mr. Yang received dual bachelor’s degrees from Peking University in 2003.
